Guruji has said the time upto mid-october is not very favourable for us. Bawa also said this time is a very good oppurtunity for all of us to go inward, to read Knowledge. I personally have been spending quite a lot of time reading knowledge sheets and I am having a wonderful time ! :)

Maoist leader surrenders in Jharkhand
BOKARO (JHARKHAND): A top Maoist leader today surrendered before the police here with his weapon, taking the total number of surrendered rebels to ten in Jharkhand since July.
"Ramendra alias Guruji surrendered before Inspector General of Police (Zonal) Manoj Kumar Mishra and handed over his pistol to him," Superintendent of Police, Saket Kumar Singh, said here.
The rebel told the police that he was inspired by Art of Living classes of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar which he had attended in disguise at Garhwa.
In 1996, Ramendra joined People's War Group which later merged with Marxist Comminust Centre to form CPI(Maoist). He became a self-styled sub-zonal commander of CPI(Maoist), Singh said.
The surrendered Maoist, who faced four Naxal-related cases, was entrusted with 'political education' in a couple of villages of Bihar and Jharkhand, he said.
Ramendra, who became the tenth ultra to have turned in before the police since July this year, received Rs 50,000 in case on surrendering and would be rehabilitated as per the government?s surrender policy, the SP said.

Who shot at Guruji?

Finally, Guruji entered the Yagyashaala at 8.35 pm looking fresh like a lily, dressed in flowing white. It was a perfect entry, Rishi Nityapragyaji singing, 4000 people dancing, and he entered swaying to the bhajan.

He then sat down, sang along, and recited a beautiful Sanskrit shloka and then explained it. He said, “Wherever there is meditation, satsang, yoga and seva happening, there is so much positivity that violence will just cease to exist”.
“Take the case of that terrorist who came today. He fired, but the bullet didn’t even touch me. It could have killed anyone, but it just brushed a devotee. There is so much positivity in the ashram, that the terrorist's mind was changed. Though he could have killed many, he just didn’t harm anyone! Obviously he would not have come with just one bullet. But his mind was transformed and he left without firing even the second time. It was all due to the satva in the ashram.”

“Even during the silver jubilee of the AOL there were some terrorists who had vowed not to let the event happen. But the vibes of 2.5 million people meditating together were so strong, that even their mind got transformed and they couldn’t do anything.”

“I forgive him and welcome him here, attend the satsang, sing, dance, see what joy is. He will then give up violence and blossom like a flower. The terrorists are not bad people. They just need some compassion. They have a victim inside them yelling for help.”

“Infact, this knowledge of spirituality, is the only thing that can overcome terrorism. Wherever people meditate, do sadhana and satsang, the violence and crime in that area goes down. Hence we should take this knowledge to more and more people. Let the positivity reform the minds of the violent people. Then only the world will be at peace. You need not worry about security. Nothing can happen to you. You have a security kavach around you. Feel safe and go to sleep”.

Later that night, when I was reflecting on what had happened, a few things struck my mind.
Guruji ALWAYS said, “leave alone the chance of a crime in the ashram, no crime can happen even in the 5 km radius around the ashram. I have heard this since I know Him, but today day He proved it! The attacker could not even shoot till the moment Guruji was outside the vehicle. It was only after He sat in His car, did the attacker fire. That’s how powerful His radiance is!

Once Guruji was asked, “its said that everything in our life is already decided. Then why to be in spiritual knowledge and why to be with a Guru?” He smiled and replied, “see its true that everything is decided. But to what extent it should be true is in your hands. If its written that an arrow will hit you, it will. But if you are in spiritual knowledge (or with a sadhguru) it may just take your cap along, without even touching you!”
This is exactly what happened. Though that bullet could have killed anyone, it just brushed off the thigh of one of the devotee. There wasn't even a drop of blood. After just receiving the first aid, Vinay was all fine!

If anyone of us is attacked, we wouldn’t dare to step out even with security, until the attacker is caught. And here He was, attacked just two hours ago, and already getting along freely with His devotees, without ANY security. And yes, the attacker was not caught and could have been sitting among His devotees as well!

When He announced about the attack to a crowd of 4000, everyone in the hall was surprised, but not even a single person panicked! Didn’t get the gravity of my point?
Imagine a college gathering with 4000 people in it. It is announced that someone, may be a terrorist shot at the principal about 1 hour ago. The principal escaped with minor injury, but the terrorist has not been caught! Imagine the chaos that will follow in the gathering then. Everyone will run out of the place! One can only imagine the levels of panic in the crowd!
But it was a different scene in the ashram. No one moved from their place in the hall. All the children below 14 years of age, around 200 of them, were sitting in another room. To my amazement, not a single parent got up to go to his child! Everyone just sat there listening to Guruji, clapping and getting enlightened by His knowledge, as if everyone in the hall just KNEW that they will be taken care of! That’s what faith is!

I do not blame the DGP or the home minister for stating that it was not an attack, just an incident, for its much difficult for their intellectual brain to understand the effect of positive vibes. A simple way out for them is, “single shot - not on Guruji - a fight among His followers - resulting in firing”. Any person who has been to ashram even once will know the absurdity of this statement! And yes, the lie that the bullet was fired 15 minutes after Guruji had left! Well, the police asked a few followers about the incident, most of whom weren’t at that spot when the incident occurred, and accepted the less told, but convenient narration of the incident.

Who shot at Guruji? Guruji says that no one can harm Him. He tells that His devotees are safe. And He PROVED it! As devotees, what is important for us is to know that when we are in His grace, no one can harm us. Feel secure! Its our duty to regularly practice sadhana, conduct satsangs, and spread this knowledge so that more and more people get transformed and leave violence. The one who shot at Him, an individual, a maoist or a terrorist, might have already left the path of violence! As a devotee why should the identity of the attacker matter to us, when we have so much to learn from the incident and strenghten our Faith in Him?

Here's a wonderful post from Radha. Some of you might have read it, since it's also on her blog. But its worth reading again! :-)

Born in a family where everyone is a Krishna devotee, i grew up listening to Krishna stories in my childhood. There was one thing about him though, that bugged me too much. Everyone said that Radha and Krishna are incarnations of love, born on earth to teach mankind the essense of love. It made no sense to me, as Krishna left Radha forever, went on to become a king, had a sixteen thousand wives, but never thought of calling his girl friend back. To me, it looked more like a teenage fling than an attempt to teach humans what love is.

However, one year back, I went to Gokul and Vrindavan, the place where Radha and Krishna grew up. While we were doing a pradakshina around the Govardhan Parvat, I asked a rickshawallah the same question about the relevance of Radha and Krishna's love. What he said illuminated me more than ne pandits ever had.

"Radha's love for Krishna was not just the love of a woman for a man as we look at it today. She loved him like a girlfriend loves her boyfriend, like a daughter loves her father,like a sister adores her brother,like a student respects her teacher, and like a devotee worships her god. Krishna was everything to Radha, and He understood that. Who says marriage is the ultimate expression of love? It wouldn't have been so for Radha and Krishna for sure, because the love they shared was so much more than that. This was the message they wanted to give to the world - a nameless non-judgemental love."

I understood what he meant. We always try to name love, to analyse it, explain it. But we forget that the real beauty of love is in its mystery. There's no rationale behind it, and no boundaries ahead of it. We always try to reason about every relationship.

'no but you should explain.. there has got to be something. what exactly is it, you are what? friends, lovers, friends wanting to be lovers, friends trying not be lovers, what??'
'I have no idea.. '

Thats perfectly 'lovely'. We don't have to give love a name, and make it some kind of 'relationship'. Love is just.. it. Its Love :)

Homecoming!

Sunday morning. 10:30am. I took my bum and put it on a chair outside my room. Finally, I had time spare enough to unleash my creativity and splash it on a piece of paper. The menopause of the high spirited technical fest, had left me with a topic for this blog post as well : APOGEE!
But even as I sat, and my pen made contact with paper, something completely unrelated started barging into my head, hushing away any or all thoughts of Apogee. Those were of "homecoming".

However hard you work, how much ever you enjoy being independent; after a busy, hectic day, all your heart wants is a warm bed and welcome from someone you love. In this world of pretensions and prejudices, every once in a while you get fed up of prying or being pried upon. having prejudices or being prejudiced, unless you are a spiritual master.
Often we try to ignore our instincts of "homecoming" though in vain, infact sometimes we are so foolish to remain oblivious to the growing longing for solace within us.
Sometimes we find solace in our family, sometimes in our Guru, sometimes in friends, sometimes in ourselves, while sometimes even in strangers. Never neglect those people in whom you find solace, never neglect those who redeem you. Is that person (or soul) any less than God who helped you, loved you, and accepted you when you were in the most miserable of states?
Never neglect or think low of anyone. Every person in this world, once in a while, directly or indirectly, helped you, and you helped them all.
Now that is kinda wierd...aint it?
Maybe it is. But just imagine for a while, that people all around the globe, do for a while agree to it. How simply amazing would that be!
People say, if you want to broaden your vision, move out, look out and learn more about other people. Why not try the opposite? Look within yourself, accept your greed, accept your hunger for knowledge. And when you master your own self, maybe the world itself will come to you!

Commitment

Hello all!

Here’s a good example of commitment - right infront of us. I feel that we will be able to relate to it. Hence putting it here.

Some of you may be knowing that a Navchetna shibir for the mess workers is going on in our campus. I wanted to organize such a course, but never did it. This time, the course is being organized almost single handedly by Vishesh. Though it may seem to be simple to organize a Navchetna shibir, it definitely is not – especially for the first time. He has been planning for this since last sem. Co-ordinating with the teacher, taking institute permissions, convincing the institute to organize it, etc etc is a lot of work. Hats off to you Vishesh! Brilliant work.

It can be a good learning for all of us. Many times while working for AOL activities or otherwise, we get discouraged if we do not get the support of other people working for the same cause. “No one is working, so why should I? Anyways I can’t do it all alone”. Normally under this state of mind we drop the activity, the reason being, ‘lack of interest in people’. The key is to have our commitment so strong that nothing can shake it. (Feelings come later, commitment first). When you have such a commitment accompanied by faith and willingness, even the absence of support from others or any such hurdle fails to stop you! (and such great things happen)

Well done Vishesh! :-)

Btw, I got to learn this lesson now, because, I was very FORTUNATE to always have full support of all of you in all the activities! :-D Thank you guys! Love you! Njoy! :-)

The last minute

This is something i started writing last semester, i wrote the second half only today :) !!

Why do i do things at the last minute ?

It is because the work gets done fastest when its done at the last minute. The same work, which otherwise would take 20 mins., takes only 5 mins. At the last minute, the mind becomes suddenly sharp and alert ; a sense of purpose dawns.

Right now I am sitting in my room and watching a movie. I still have not packed for my journey home in the morning. Its only a 5 min job, but I’m not doing it now because otherwise it will take 20 min. Why ? Why will it take a longer time ? There is no sense of purpose, there is a lethargy, a love of being still and doing nothing. Laziness.

The root cause of laziness, according to me, is a love of being still and doing nothing. And that is exactly what is meditation !! So if i really love being still and doing nothing, why not meditate ?

So when i finish my meditation, (if i have meditated 100 %) i'll feel sharp, alert .. with a sense of purpose (no need to wait till the last minute to get that !!)

So now whenever i feel lazy to do something, i know what to do :) !!

Plus not choosing to do something at the last minute gives me the additional advantage of extra time if the work is longer than i anticipated :). So useful for exams na ?

What say ?? Would love to hear your views on this ...

"The name of this post sounds like something you hear from every other person who has ever cared about or loved you. And here I am, telling the same thing over again. I can just hope you find patience enough to stick your bum infront of your screen and read this. Here goes...

Everyone has limits. But we never know our limits, until our skills have been put to test. How would you ever be able to understand the thrill of Para-gliding, unless you don’t dare to jump off the cliff? Life is short, by the time people understand this simple fact, that short life is over. So, never say: “This is all I can do”, unless you’ve tried to do it. Do you know that humans use only 10% of their brain? While much more you can do. You have the resources. You just need to find it and the first place to look into is within yourself.

Our skills double when we face danger. Then we see, hear, smell, and move faster. It shows that we are capable to act and do much more than we think. We are just too afraid at times. But what are we afraid of? Are we afraid, we may actually find our true strengths? Or is it, we just need to be pushed to find our true potential.
“What is the most universal human characteristic: fear or laziness?”

Some of us aren’t afraid. We just aren’t bothered. ‘So what’ are the two most dangerous accountable words. “So what, I’m weak? So what, I’m not using my abilities to my best?” These are the questions that can never be answered. But think about it a while; if everyone starts asking you the same questions, how will you feel? If all the great leaders fuss ‘So what, if the country is unhappy?’, if your grocer yells ‘So what, you’re hungry?’, if your garbage collector tells ‘So what, your home is dirty?’; pointing their fingers to you, how would you feel?
Replace that acidic “So what?” with the hopeful “What if?”
“What if you become someone great worth remembering?”
“What if you can make people proud of you?”

The thing that’s worse than quitting or failing is – being complacent. Believing you are weak and that’s all you are capable of. When you start saying, “This is the way I’m and there’s nothing I can do about it”, that is when you hit rock bottom. No one can help you in such a situation. Even the skills that you’ve mastered will be a waste with such an attitude. Believe in yourself, and only then you can expect others to believe in you.
Start to care. Even if no one else cares for you. The last person to give up on you should be yourself."

After a Looooong time....

I was kicked out of the blog by Rahul for not posting for a long time, so I had to assure him that I would post atleast once in a week to get back as an author... :)
So here i go...
I watched this documentary called "HOME- A Stunning Visual Portrayal of Earth" (download it from u know where). Its a very beautifully documented HD video about our only home - Earth. Unlike any other documentaries that u watched in Nat-Geo or Discovery, this is entirely different coz it talks about........... uhh well, I just can't find the right words to make u enlightened or stuff like that... Simple! just watch the video to get the feel of it... :)

Sid got very emotional while watching ( lol :P ) so i told him to forward some scenes....

Hey all! Jai Gurudev!! :-)

How r u all?? Hows the sem going? Am not in touch with some of you. Plzzzz help me to be! :-) mail kiya karo ya buzz kar diya karo :)

I usually do not blog, par ab Shashwat bhi kar raha hai, to mujhe sharam aa gayi! :-P :D

So let my first blog be about the recent course. The first 3 day YES!+ in our campus was a great success! And all the credit for this goes to you. I know you all worked really hard for this course to be the way it was. Congrats! :-) This time I really missed the talks and I terribly missed you. I missed the course and even the post course meeting! :) Though, its a different thing that everyone would have been happy for my absence in the post course analysis ;-D

For the coming course, it would be really nice if Yash, Tejas, Anushree, Sumit, Bhawana and other first yearites take larger part in the decision making also. Second yearites should now assure that the entire planning is flawless. This is especially for Amulya, Jyothi, Sugandha. The planning is the most difficult part of the organizing. It will give you a proper feel of organizing the course! :-> Also Swapnil bhaiya, Atharva bhaiya and Mayuri didi carry lot of responsibility as higher degree participation completely depends on them. Others OB need to do their part. Now you must have very well understood that a team effort is a must for organizing the courses and events.

You guys are doing great. Rock the next event too. LEARN while working! And yeah, do NJOY while u r learning! :-)

Since I don't have a lot to offer as a blogger, i'll coin a theory that sid and me devised in our leisure time(night before exam).

It is what we call,the Luck theory .

Lets get started.

Luck theory : never feel unlucky

The luck theory is based on baseless probability.And its especially for those who,in regular intervals,keep 'realizing' that they are unlucky.

It goes like this.At every moment of time , there are just two possibilities of your status= you can either be alive,or dead.Lets approximate the moment(which may be an infinitesimally small fraction of a second) to a second, to simplify things.

Now as good maths students do, lets assume life and death to have equal probability, nullifying all ambiguity.Thus probability of you surviving each second is 0.5.For another second, its 0.5*0.5 and so on. Probability of surviving a minute comes out to be approximately 8.6*10^-19, which I can assure you, is quite small.

So all of us have defeated death billions of times each minute, and survived out of it with such a slim chance.With such a small chance, you are still alive!! woooh....That accounts for a LOT OF LUCK!!!!

So from today, stop feeling unlucky........because, you can't get luckier!!

I'll end this blog with a promise of another theory next time(you don't have an option..sorry).

Defining spirituality!

Today only rahul bhaiya sent me d invite to join d blog as an author n here i m with my first post!
may be you all must b thinking by now why i chose such a topic for my first post....kind of debating i know...different people has their different views on that....but dont worry...i am here to give my own viewpoint and for you people the option of comments is always there:P
spirituality....for me.....i guess its all started when my parents first taught me to join hands in front of God.The part of spirituality which i got from my family... just a god gift for me .......(ofcoz...without any efforts:))were the 'sanskars' which i got from my parents....this is what i will say my parents taught me to walk on the path of spirituality.
Another most important part of spirituality for me comes from the teachers and the school....i.e. from my formal education(which includes the core spirituality subjects like moral science and also some of the holy books which were d part of d curriculum)....where i actually learnt d code of conduct for my social life....d manners ,d etiquettes(i guess i hav enough of them:P)...how to behave and how to talk with people....which i feel taught me how to practice spirituality(assuming my parents had already taught me whole of the theory part of it:))
n now comes the part which will be most fascinating for all of you i guess..... becoz now m entering BITS.....now m a yes!+ite.....n der is some unlimited stuff i can write about it......but in nutshell....which i think is the most important thing aol has taught me(n ofcoz...to all of us:)) is not only to develop a belonging to our ownself but also to practice spirituality rather i ll say to b strong enough 2 do dat in dis world full of chaos....where everybody is running around and implementing their own means striving hard for success.....and ultimately in a race 2 win the world ,they lose their own selves......so here spirituality not only helps you to achieve your own goals in life but it also makes u stronger within yourself.
n in d end i would like to tell you the most effective definition of spirituality i hav ever heard.....and that too from our VC LKMsir(i was lucky enough to b present there that day) in his words.....'spirituality is something which helps you evolve as a person.....which actually helps u urself to eliminate your shortcomings and to become a better human being'.

"Jaadu" that was played :) and that ,which will continue to play in my "LIFE"! :)

A very long awaited one.Never found such beautiful bliss inside myself.
Especially (no specially :P) after the ADVANCE course. "The feeling of the sense of belongingness " everywhere in your presence.Well -poised atmosphere , everlasting enthu !(the noblest and greatest gift one certainly receives @ the end the course :) :) )
At the outset ,even i couldn't believe it, but its amazing, :) My heartfelt thanx to all those who accompanied me and had been a part of the advance course this time. It was just a memorable one.Only this much for now.
Have to speak up alot more.
will come back soon :P :) :D
At the end I would just say.

The transformation!

winters.... how do i start? Being brought up in Hyderabad,Vijayawada I never realized there exists such a season, only that i heard the name from books, teachers and saw great snaps from fabulous locations!! Landing up in Pilani 2 years back in the boiling heat, made me long for "the winter"... heard a lot of it from seniors and acquaintances before coming here... "the temperature goes below zero", "its awesome... you can watch the water turn to ice"... the expressions really captured my imagination, i got excited about 'em and it wasn't long(3 and a half months only) before fiiiiiinally seasons changed and........?????????

It wasn't quite what i expected... actually it was all of what i hadn't expected! I realized subzero temperatures meant layers and layers of clothing(which i absolutley hate) and still shivering cause they're not enough!No heaters in rooms... solar water heaters and no sun meant cold water baths(no baths for most people for weeks!... but i can't stand being untidy so had to take bath!) and the lsit goes on... cold creams(which i absolutely hate and couldn't avoid) etc etc... I absolutely hated winters! All it took was 1 of 'em!

So what changed?Well a lot actually... only that the change is within me :).I now have wonder in my eyes and my heart and love to embrace anyone and anything!Well how?? Knowledge... of acceptance, and what peace it brings!Accept and that minute the complaining, sulking mind suddenly comes to peace!(also finds solutions if required...)I accept the cold,the fog, the cold water,... everything! And a second later I'm amazed by the beauty of the place,the weather, and the moment!!Wonder dawns in my eyes and my heart and I'm totally surprised... just a few moments back it all seemed a pain!

And then I remember one of the most beautiful quotes by Guruji
" When you follow fun, misery follows you. When you follow knowledge, fun follows you!".I'm grateful to have this among other knowledge in my life :).(not that i have much :) )

You must have heard of the winter break by now and would be regretting not doing the winter break'09 for its spleandour, celebration and super cool workshops(& this one's for the guys we had super cute gals as well :) and that too a lot! ) that came with it!! And thats why I'm telling you guys don't postpone your courses... not at any cost cause there's loads & loads of learning and fun!! A nice set of poems from Vishesh sure added some beauty to the blog! Apart from that it seems our blog has been missing some action, stuff from people... compres adding to our woes :)!

My sem was horrible academically speaking it was great otherwise though!(esp the finale with an awesome satsang!and was great hanging out with our YES+ folks much more as well)The absence of Harshad Bhaiyya will be a huge vaccum that'll take a while to fill... am missing him loads already! Got to meet lovely Bawa & Dinesh @ Delhi on 12th immediately after my last paper and it sure was one awesome trip! A night out for me with B&D till about 1am followed by a chat up with saleel Bhaiyya till about 4!(watch out cause Vishesh said he'll write all about it :) )

Back to Hyd and home sweet home! with an irritating net connection though... won't post till next sem but sure hope to read something from others!Have great hols and check out our other AOL blogs... you'll definitely find cool things happening around :)

We are educated people!

we are educated people, or that is what we are supposed to be. But many a times I observer among ourselves, the student community on campus, that we, the educated people have to learn a lot. Here i am referring to the points, which affects all of us. In fact, being a student of one of the finest institutes of india, adds more responsibility on our shoulders. We are the brand ambassador of this place, which I think is close to everyone here, as it is for me.

There are several behavioral patterns which I notices lately. If you take a walk around the campus, at many places you will see garbage on roads, in the corner, and its we, the educated lot, who dump it anywhere we please to. We even don't feel bad while doing so, because we are just not aware of what we are doing. Because that is what we
have seen our elders doing, and we ourselves have been doing it for so long. But is it not the time that stop for a while in these rushing times of life, and ponder upon some of the things which affect us and society at large.

It is such a small deed of ours which if corrected can make a lot of difference,. If we just take care that we use dustbins for dumping the garbage, it will not only make our campus clean, it also inculcates some values in us. And I have observed these values make a big difference in life later on. I have seen people talking about foreign countries, they say governece is good there, it takes care of the people, they are so organized, properly managing day-to-day activities. And some of these very same people when come here, they will litter all around and then blame that we don't have civic sense, our culture is bad, our infrastructure is bad, nothing works here and lot many things.

I tell you these are the people who are also responsible for the present condition. I say so because if we take responsibility we can make things much better. Instead of blaming the system, which we are also part of, if we do our jobs right and see what are the things we can improve, the day is not far that each one of us will feel proud of our country(I don't mean that we don't feel so right now, but the feel would be more universal). And the same goes for our college also.

Another observation of mine: after the class gets over, in very few classes some one cares to switch off the power. At first place we just don't think and if some of us do, either we are too lazy to take corrective measures or just feel bad about it and do nothing. Feeling bad is not enough, we have to take action so that the situation improves and life becomes better. This way we not only make life better for us but for the people around us also.

So if you are still with me also have thought about these little things at some point of time, I wish that you take care two things, just two things

1. Throw garbage only in dustbins
2. Switch off power when not in use, be it your room, college or home.

Even if one of the person reading this becomes aware of these small responsibilities, i will feel grateful.

I was remembering my teacher recently.... who
once said "sanskrit padke kya mandir mein ghanti bajayega ? " when i opted for Sanskrit as my optional subject...
But when i actually started up with it.....
I just loved it because(especially our teacher made it so interesting by playing jokes all the time (of course not to see all of us sleeping right in front of him )! It has got the very native flavour... "the Origin--- "MOTHER" of all languages!!!!"
I thought it would have been great if every subject were like it .... then realised that every subject is IN it !!!! :) :) :)
Just wanted put in a few.....

MORNING as soon as u get up on your bed...

hm....after a LOUSY weekend(cp online test; by evening i had caught a terrible cold ), the first two days of the week were VERY eventful...all the events were happening online though.....by monday i was terribly ill....(right now i was on my wat to attending my first class of the week, and it got cancelled...so here i m in ipc). Ya, coming back to EVENTFUL online stuff....i could literally see the love for me in every YES!+ volunteers status message....what was even better was the unity between them....EVERY SINGLE VOLUNTEER'S STATUS MESSAGE was about me....and the best part being that only 2 of them knew what exactly the status message meant...but i wont deny, i got majorly pissed off on tuesday morning....woke up with a terribly heavy head, a stuffed nose,and shivering coz i was running temperature.. .....it was crazilY foggy(pathetic use of adjectives,,...but its ok)for a november morning..(had to collect my test paper, thats the reason i was up early)...and the moment i stepped out of my hostel...people walk up to me and ask for a clarification of y a lot of ppl have a weird status msg abt me....i explained and moved on...and a fresh bunch of ppl wanted clarification....i was MAD at shashwat n harshad...the GITS dint know where to draw the line.......looked like half of bits knew abt the status message by now.......

I came back after collecting my es paper...( i am sure if pavan reads this, nothing would interest him more that to know how much i got..GHOT ), had a nice sleep.....woke up....went online...and yet another guy asks me what with the status msg......

thats when i realised...man... our YES!+ team ROCKS.....coz....jokes are cracked only on those who can take it...and only if you love some1 so much that you would love to pull their leg....THANKS for your love guys....and secondly...it was great to see all these guys gang up "against" me.....i really hope we have real great work happening in future....and now its time for my mech sol class....and for those of u who are wondering y such a strange title....stop being an idiot....

A "Perfect Summer"

Harsha Vardhan M V is a YES!+ volunteer who started courses in his campus - BITS Goa. He had come to Chennai for his PS ... planning to stay at his friend's aunt house during the summer. But this friend of his got his PS in Rourkela Steel Plant & Harsha was stuck at Chennai without accomodation ...

I had chosen my PS at home in NML, Chennai and on the first day at PS I met Harsha ... and the first thing I asked him was "Don't you check your gmail ?". Now thats quite a wierd thing to ask when you meet for the first time ... but I reminded Harsha that we had first met in the 2007 winter break @ Bangalore Ashram. I had found out previously that our PS stations were the same, and had invited him (via email) to spend the summer with me.

For me and Harsha, PS is more "Perfect Summer" than Practice School :). I had just finished my worst BITSian semester, and was going home for the first time since my dad expired (in Feb) ... the atmosphere at home was extremely murky and gloomy & I was looking ahead at what could have been a torrid summer ... but thanks to Mr. G, that was not to be !! HE sent along a 'lamp' who had done 4 adv courses & organised 4 courses in his campus ... to brighten up my dark home :).

My mother got another son, my brother added one more player to his gully cricket team :) and I had got a friend (what a friend !! ) to spend time with :) ... Harsha is an extremely sweet guy, very humorous, finds Chennai girls too "traditional" (and yet his crush is a Chennai girl !! ... no wait, its a hyd girl now, isn't it, Harsha ? )

We ate together, slept together, did seva together, attended weekly satsangs, shared Guru stories and Seva stories and Bau stories, had plenty of 'adventures' with pretty girls (a rare breed in Chennai) ... those 2 months were heavenly, flawless ... as if out of someone else's life :) ... a memory to cherish !!!

was jsut wondering....we volunteers go abt telling ppl abt the course..sometimes it gets strange or sometimes annoying for the ppl listening...here are some real interesting cases i came across..both in bits and hyd:

once in bits, during the first course i volunteered for--" dude, are these ppl paying you to advertise"

in hyd, my friend and i were walking by...the guy(my frnd) was in a reaal swing...he just peeped into a car parked by and said.."can i talk to you for a few minutes?"..reply..."NOOOOOOOOOO!!"...and then he asks"just for 2 mins", reply...."GET !@$#!@#%@#%@"....he replies"do the Art of Living Course ma'am"

another in hyd...."have you heard of the Art of Living ma'am?"....reply...."GO AWAY .. GO AWAY....i have had ENOGUH PPL TELLING ME ABOUT IT"......

in hyd,..a guy was smokin..."want a better kick", he replied, " you mean sex?"

this one takes the cake..and it was true.....in the train...my dad struck a conversation with a co passenger...the passenger asks"what do you do"...my dad replies " i am a full time teacher with the ARt of Living"...man replies...."areey....!! ravi and i were class mates"....my dad..."which ravi are you talking about.."...man replies..."arey...the guy who started this".......took time to digest

jgd...!!sid here.....Just wanted to share some interesting stuff......i was real real real bored of the assignments i was doing and so signed into gtalk...interestingly harshad bhaiya was online and we started chatting....harshad bhaiyya is one of those VERY few persons with whom i am totally totally a child....i love being like a kid bro to him..i complain abt stuff and discuss certain stuff of AOL with him which i think i would only do with my mom or dad.....(and we also discuss lots of stuff i would NEVER discuss with my mom or dad ;) ) ....i simply love his matured answers man...we were discussing some similar stuff.....rather he was talking sense...i was groaning.....and the discussion lead to a point where he made a particular remark and i remembered an AMAZING incident....

if i remember right, it happened in Sumeru(b'lore ashram).....Guruji was sitting with a few people....back then the crowds werent so much...it was like a gen chat session....suddenly a few ppl who were having some problems with teachers got up and started complaining to Guruji.....the answer He gave was brilliant man!!He picked up a blade of grass..and said "if I make this blade of grass a teacher, knowledge will flow from this"....take every oppurtunity to learn...either learn what to be...or learn what not to be from them...it was just COOL...the style!!..all said and done..he's got REAL STYLE!

It was just yesterday, I opened rashmin bhaiyya's blog and saw yet another masterpiece... he doesn't write very often, but when he does he just rocks! Well I felt,anyways I'm going to share this piece here... and why not share something about him as well .And that's how this post has taken shape! :-)

Rashmin bhaiyya, one of the first YES!+ teachers is famous globally among the AOL family for his brilliant communication skills among the many other facets of his admirable personality!Bawa himself says... " If I give to talk to a crowd of 5o people say 49 or even 50 might register but if Rashmin gives the talk then 150 would register these 50 would go and spread the word to 2 other friends!"

There are even many many tales of his talks(will tell some of them in case you're interested) and experiences!And just recently he got married to Priyanka(also known as Piyu didi... sweet,loving,and also a teacher herself! ) at heaven on Earth the Bangalore ashram!

Hey guys!! the time all of us are waiting for has finally come... the registrations for the December YES!+ winter break(also known as the advance course) @ the Bangalore AOL ashram(the paradise on Earth) have opened and are very soon about to close as well!!! All over the world people are throbbing to get registered!! Here go the details:

Reporting on 26th December anytime before 11:00 pm
Dec 27th 2009 - Jan 1st 2010 : The Advance Course (YES!++) with none other than BAWA & DINESH
Jan 2nd & 3rd : All India youth festival, JOSH-2010.

Well, well...It was Pavan's birthday yesterday and one awesome celebration! Pavan's birthday... Sid's revenge a lot of things in one night :).On a serious and personal note though,I was really happy for him and wished him some of the best for life.We've really gelled over the past year...he's a good friend. Rishi Nityapragya Satsang

It was just last April when about 18 of us went to Jhunjhunu last sem for one of Rishi NityaPargya's satsang and I'm sure every single person who came would not have forgotten even a single moment of the event!

Personally it was one of the best satsangs i ever attended in my entire life(I've attended less than 50... not a big number :) ).And obviously between the energizing,dancing, soul stirring bhajans(i hate calling them bhajans for the ones in AOL don't sound like the stereo types! THEY ROCK) there was some amazing knowledge that he shared.... and obviously this one's about that!Its a summary of numerous things he'd spoken that day so might not be in continuity.

The only qualification of knowledge is the willingness to learn!
There are two worlds: Inner & Outer
1. Outer constitutes people,objects and events
2. Inner constitutes heart,intellect,Chitta and ego.
Happenings and events in the outer world trigger the 'habits(Good or bad) of the inner.
Way to a pleasant and peaceful mind:
1. Observation of inner world and its happenings
2. Insert the filter of wisdom and judge which habits are good and which ones are bad.
3. Surrender the bad ones to the Divine.
Life is actually of the inner world... since, experiences through emotions,thoughts etc., all of them are only in the inner world. This implies that the quality of your life is directly proportional to the condition of the inner world!

My first visit...and my first encounter!!

December 28th, 2007 the first time i set my foot on AOL bangalore ashram!! I went there for my first advance course :). The advance course(winter break) was fabulous and life transforming,BUT... that's not what this one's about!!

January 4th,2008... Sudden change of plans for everyone who wanted to leave on 4th because Guruji decided to meet the YES!++ participants,this being the first ever winter break and came all the way from Germany !! So, in a jam packed Vishalakshi Mantap with about 1500 young,dynamic, explosive bodies and silent minds was my first ever encounter with Guruji!!

After an indescribable process of meditation(20 minutes seemed like 10 seconds!!) Guruji unwrapped a box of chocolates(big yummy ones,given by an international) and in his usual stylish ways started throwing them one after the other into the audience. There was chaos everywhere as everyone was in pursuit to grab one!

Then, he said that from a group of about 20-25 only one should stand ... and when he /she manages to get hold of one, should share it with the group.The game had begun and was a lot of fun.

After a few throws he said that "the one who is catching should not eat but only share with the other members of the group". I was just wondering on the beauty of the thought and then came the golden words that got encrypted in my memory(and of course the silly little book :D).

THERE IS A JOY IN ACHIEVING... AND THERE IS A JOY IN SHARING !!.

Satyam Param Dhimahi...

Well... its been quite a bit of time since the last post and will make up for that by posting regularly from now on, part of which would be from knowledge sheets(from 'Intimate Note To The Sincere Seeker'-by Guruji) considering the fact that very few people on campus have the book.

Now i come straight to what this post is aimed at.All my life I've lied a lot regarding various things for example, be it giving the list of expenses to dad (or) denying politely a request from a friend to borrow something(and of course many other reasons not to be proud of :D).

Ever since joining AOL and starting my spiritual journey I've lied for various other reasons... sometimes with friends about my YES!+ activities(when i was new to our YES!+ group and didn't fully implement the football sutra!), but its been mostly to my parents(i hope my mom doesn't read this :D) about my activities and volunteering in AOL to avoid hurting them and more than that just to divert conflicts!!

But that's only a thing of the past, before i had this wonderful experience... i don't remember the exact incident when it happened, but the experience itself is fresh in my memory. I was about to lie to my dad on a call(obviously about AOL) but i 'chose' to face the situation boldly and decided that let me tell the truth!This in spite all the exact words i had planned to convince him( i managed to convince anyways). I cannot express the amount of joy and contentment i expressed in that single moment. I fell in love with 'truth' and i wondered with a smile the reason why Gandhiji loved truth('satya') so much!

Its very easy to lie in uncomfortable circumstances and get away... but just give this a shot. CHOOSE to tell the truth when otherwise you wouldn't have.It'll spark something in you... each and every time you would choose truth over comfort,or something else for everything else would seem trivial!

And to this was added a brilliant realization... just a few months back it dawned on me that when I'm seeking enlightenment(mind you its a loaded term), the highest reality that would dispense all darkness and reveal all secrets... how will this highest knowledge(truth, reality call it whatever you like) come to me if i myself don't honour and speak the truth at all times!

And that is precisely what the shloka Satyam Param Dhimahi means... literally translated as " Let the Ultimate truth dawn on me"

Reflections... Unlimited !!

Well well... it was just my last post when i spoke of Standing out and also having a VISION for yourself. And as i was just reading our very AOL's cool website srisri'sblog i was surprised, excited and filled with awe all at the same time as i read this question and answer(dated September 3rd) among the many others. Here's THE question that i was talking of...

Q. What is your vision for the Art of Living as an organization?
Sri Sri: Spirituality is the language of the New Age. You make your own vision. I would ask you to be a drishta (the one with the vision), you may make your own drishya (view). The Divine will give you sleep, you create your own dream.

If you've been with AOL long enough(depends how long, on your grasping abilities!)then its impossible of you to miss one aspect. Whatever profound and deep thoughts you're pondering on for a long time or even if its a spontaneous thought in the presence of Guruji or even many senior teachers, it gets reflected in their words or even deeds(cautious: everything is not ob in AOL... you got to be aware each moment always).

On numerous occasions this has happened to me... I have a thought and Guruji speaks of it in the very next instance(of course bawa and Dinesh b have also done it) and even saleel bhaiyya has managed the feat many times!

So... just beware!! The path of knowledge offers many such hidden secrets to be explored(it could just be a mere coincidence as well, no mystery involved!). Whatever it is... don't get stagnated and start drifting apart.Make sure get some knowledge everyday, it could be talks, videos knowledge sheets , Yoga Vashishta , Books... whichever way you love it!But do get it!

Hmmm.... STAND OUT - its not only my name on dc, its also something I've started to believe in after coming into AOL... frankly not immediately after my first YES!+.I kept doing kriya, slowly started to volunteer and then came the time for my first advance course!Looking at Bawa and Dinesh bhaiyya and of course Guruji(He was there only for a session) I was in sheer awe. It inspired(and still does) me to the core!

And getting to know many extraordinary figures like Rashmin bhaiyya, Vikram bhaiyya made me more and more determined that I don't want to be just another guy with good job, a 'well settled life' even if spirituality is a part of it!!

I decided that i want to STAND OUT from the rest of the crowd... I've learnt to DREAM BIG and have a vision for myself(well... what 'my' vision is a secret lets see if we manage to stick together you'll know it anyways), most importantly support it with action! Cause in AOL we just don't talk... we are among the good people who actually go out and ACT!

By and by as i watch my friends and others speaking and worried(actually terrified) of jobs and placements i laugh to myself! I feel they're still stuck in small little things not realising their true potential...

I don't want all of you to commit the same mistake! All of us having done the YES!+ and having Guruji by the side... should dream big, achieve big... without losing the knowledge,wisdom and STAND OUT from the normal crowd!

Jaigurudev!!

My name's Rahul(of course a student of BITS-pilani)... I'm forced to follow this formality of introducing myself cause i see one follower who seems to be non pilani... correct me if u are!(do it by commenting).I'm here to add onto the good work Vishesh has been doing by creating and contributing to a YES!+ blog.

I think its a great platform where all of us(the YES!+ participants and volunteers) can keep in touch. Its fairly obvious with the number adding up its an uphill task to keep all of them included and make them feel a part of the group.... so its not necessary that only 2-3 of us contribute and the rest read. Let this be more of a space where everyone of us can share our thoughts,experiences and most importantly some knowledge(knowledge sheets or summary of some talk... lets not become teachers!).

So... whoever wants to contribute(on a regular basis) to this blog just place a comment/contact us and Vishesh will make u an author.

Celebrating Life! Now to be honest though i like the name it somehow seems incomplete and fails to describe the YESPLUS gang and our spirit. We do celebrate but we do much more than that isn't it? We're achievers, we've got knowledge, and we've got GURUJI,AOL, BAWA & DINESH and that ultimate aim that the general crowd hasn't got and i don't think that even among us many have realised that!

Sorry Vishesh... thats just my 'opinion'. Anyways Celebrating Life is just fine and is good in a broader sense.

And now its obvious that along with Vishesh I'll be contributing to the blog... more often than not and i hope i do good work... and I've got a blog of my own and u can visit it at REACH OUT .

And i hope that more people come forward and contribute to the blog, and look forward to more posts from me.

Delhi Adventures

This post marks the beginning of a series ... a series of posts about the adventures me and Rahul have had, when we went from pilani all the way to Delhi (a 6 hour journey) to volunteer for YES!+ ...

After the third YES!+ course here at Pilani, I got a call from Saleel bhaiyya saying that a volunteer training session is to be held in Delhi for the upcoming Utsav, and asking me to come ... so I asked around other volunteers in the college ... none of them were willing to come ...

Soon it was 11 PM on Saturday night (the session was on Sunday morning) and I decided that I didn't want to go alone ... but then I found out two friends of mine are going to Delhi (for a different purpose) ... still I was apprehensive about spending a day alone in Delhi (how laughably childish that looks to me now !!) .. with an uncertian mind, I asked Saleel bhaiyya what exactly will happen there, how far is the place from the bus stop etc.. .... Saleel bhaiyya patiently explained everything ... I told him I wasn't sure that Ill come ... then he said "Aye Vishesh, aaja na !!"

That did it. Now I could not say no. So at midnight I decided to board the 1 o clock bus, without asking permissions, secretly jumped a college gate ... and set out for the bus stop ...

The Meaning Of Mahabharata

Me, Mohit and Rahul had gone from Pilani to Jhunjhunu at attend a satsang by Swami Pragyapad ... and it was there he explained the Meaning of Mahabharata :

"Dhritraashtra" (father of Kauravas) means a person who conquers a country ("raashtra") by the wrong means ... i . e. ... an unethical person ... such a person is blind because he cannot see what is right and what is wrong ... cannot see what is good for him ...

Gaandhari represents our conscience ... which though can see, blinds itself in a person like Dhritraashtra ...

So when there is an unethical person with a blinded conscience, Duryodhan (the bad guy) is born ... the politicians of today are all Duryodhans/Kauravas ....

So how can Duryodhan be defeated ? He can be defeated by the five Pandavas :

YUDHISTHIR : Yudhisthir means "Yudh mein sthir" or "stable in war" ... it is that quality which enables us to be calm and cool even we are having an argument or an uneasy conversation with someone ...

BHIMA : Bhima represents strength, unshakebility, acceptance ... whatever is thrown at you ... you don't get affected ....

ARJUN : means concentration, one pointed focus, giving 100 % ...

NAKUL : 'Kul' means family ... 'na' 'kul' means one who just dosen't think about his own family ... but takes responsibilty for the society around him also ...

SAHADEV : means company of good/wise people ... "dev ke saath" ...

So in order to eradicate evil from the world ... you must use these five qualities which you have ... but these five qualities are not enough ... along with them you must have Krishna (faith/devotion to God) :)

When you are expressing these qualities 100 %, and are devoted to God, God will take care of everything ... He will do all the manipulation that is required ... He will make your enemies commit mistakes (like asking Duryodhan to cover his thighs when he is going to see his mother) ... and He will create miracles ...

So if you are cool even in an argument, are unshakeable, give your 100 % to whatever you do, think not just for your family, be in the company of the wise, and have faith in God, you can eradicate all negativity, all evil from your life and from the world .... that, is the essence of the Mahabharata.

Crazy Kriya Adventures : The high without the hangover !!!

Thought this blog is getting a bit too heavy :) ... so I'm posting this incident from my 2-1 ... just look what a long kriya can do to you ... !!!

I had a crush on this girl in college ... and I wanted to 'make' her my girlfriend :) ... she was responding too (atleast i think so) ... all was going well ... until this incident happened and blew everything up ...

Avinash bhaiyya (YES!+ teacher, Delhi) had come to campus to give an introtalk and conduct a long kriya. That day had been a bad one for me ... I was pissed off and frustrated ... things had not all gone my way ...

After the introtalk, there was the long kriya in the evening ... and I enjoyed it thoroughly ... It was, as long kriya always is, intoxicating bliss ... after the kriya I was completely blissed out and highly energized ... "drunk" in divine love ... :) They say when you are drunk all your inhibitions are broken and you go completely crazy ... all 'andar ki baatein' come out ... well .. something similar happened to me ...

That night I was in the mood for doing something crazy ... and I saw the said girl online on gtalk, and started chatting with her ... this is how the chat went ...

me : hi
she : hi ... how are you ?
me : handsome
she : he he ...
me : you know what ... i love you !!
she : what ?
me : yep. serious.
she : is tht u vishesh thr ?
me : yes
she : stop the prank right thr
me : vishesh jain who was in ur chem and probstat tuts ...
she : yea i remember tht ..
me : ok
ill stop it
but its not a prank
she : cn u cut the crap n tell me what r you upto ?
me : nothing ...
and its not crap

she : i dont know what r you upto bt let me tell u tht i don hav anythin special for anyone on campus ...
me : aaaahhhh ... ok !
me : k ... anythin else to say ..?? .. else plz dnd ... im watching movie ...

she : seriously tum mera mazak uda rahe ho na
me : k ... choose what to believe ... gbye !
she : bye ...

HA HA HA ... after the incident for a few days i was regretful that I had blown everything up (Uss raat maine bina soche samjhe kya keh diya ... !!! ) ... a feeling which completely converted to hilarity and amusement over time !!! :) ... especially when I told about this to my friend Harsha (YES!+ volunteer from BITS Goa who stayed with me during PS-1) ... he said even he will definitely tell "I love you" to a girl on campus ... just for the fun of it !! :)

Its so liberating to do something just for the fun of it, and no logical reason ... :) I feel everyone must do something totally crazy once in a while ... it makes life worth living yaar ....!!! (Harsha agrees with me.)

Very soon word of my 'proposal' spread to other college mates ... they asked me what was i upto ..? why did i do this ..? ...........

How to explain to them the intoxication and the ecstacy of the Sudarshan Kriya !!!

An IITB aluminus, he came to BITS right in the middle of our comprees (final exams) ... gave a talk ... Then me, Rahul and Mohit went to Jhunjhunu to attend his SATSANG. Both the experiences were absolutely rocking ... here is a collection of some nice things we heard ...

IMPORTANCE OF A SMILE : A smile activates nerves in your cheeks which send a signal to the pitiutary gland (between the eyebrows), which in turn signals the adrenal glands to secrete adrenalin in optiml amounts (neither too less nor too much), which means, we can be focussed, yet relaxed .

We can move from a "thinking more, acting less" kind of person to "thinking less, acting more" kind of person through concious effort.

SIGNIFICANCE OF JANEU (THREAD CEREMONY OF BRAHMINS) : The 'janeu' has three threads, which remind you of your three responsibilities - yourself, your family and the world.

Thats all I remember !!! But he explained the meaning of Mahabharata in a totally different and refreshing way ... thats up for the next post !!!

How Big I am

... this is the only poem i have ever written (till now) ... i wrote it just a few days after my first advanced course (before the course i never knew i could write poems :) ) ...

sweet is the pain

that comes before gain

dark is the night

before it gets bright

but when i realise

how Big i am

how strong, how powerful

how vast, how wonderful

omnipresent and omnipotent

that everything just is

a game of hit-n-miss

the play in the world

then how can i be affected

whether it is pain or gain

dark or bright ?

how can i be affected

by things so small

when i myself am

way beyond tall !!

The Knowledge Game

When I started this blog one of my aims was to share Knowledge through it … I wanted readers to learn nice things from the blog :) … but then I realized … one who truly wants to learn (how to make his life better) can learn from anything and everything … !!!

I remember Saleel bhaiyya mentoning that Guruji says there is knowledge in each and everything … (Q : Guruji, if there is knowledge in everything … what can we learn from … chocolate ?!? Guruji : Chocolate teaches you to be, at the same time, both firm and sweet :) !! Guruji is Mind-Blowing isn’t He ?? :) )

Saleel bhaiyya encouraged us to play a game … look around us and try to take knowledge from everything … fans, lights etc .. :) (This game becomes playable if you are regular with your kriya and have done an advanced course or two) … Follwing this train of thought, I decided to try my hand at this … and here is some ‘knowledge’ I have gained from simply observing the things around me :) … here goes :

GROUNDNUTS (which I bought from ANC) : negativity (undesired part) is only the outer shell … people are very good (tasty :) ) on the inside … we should look only at the positives …

GUITAR : make noises only when required :) ... be a perfect instrument of the Divine … when not required, be totally inactive, but when needed … deliver 100% !! (Like for ex. , don’t worry or think about studies when not studying … but when studying, give ur 100 % … a guitar makes a sound only if it is played :) … this one has been quite useful to me !! )

TOILET SEAT : Accept whatever shit (garbage) people throw at you … and then … Flush it away (otherwise you will stink … so do your kriya regularly !! :) )

A TREE : hide your roots and share your fruits !! (kabir’s doha : as a tree bears more fruits, its branches bend lower, so as a man becomes more successful, the more humble he should be !! )

THE MOON : be cool, calm and detached … a quiet witness to everything …

On Emotions

Emotions...I've ransacked every nook and cranny of my brain to get a hold of just what this word means. and how much importance should be given to it in my life's lexicon.

It might sound funny, but most of us are nothing but victims of these wickedly deceiving emotions. When our emotions say be happy, we become happy. When they say show anger, we become angry. When they say be sad, we start feeling sad...theres no end to it.
But do we ever try to find out the reason as to why these emotions are coming? Just try to find out next time when you get an emotional upsurge, and you will be amazed to see how pittifully small and incongruous the reason is.
Our mind is bombarded with so many of these worthless emotions everyday, and we gratefully accept and infact even perpetuate them.

For instance, imagine a very beautiful girl comes and says to you-"Gosh! You are so hansome. I really love you!" (I said just imagine.. :P). Most of the people will react-"Really?!"
But if the same girl comes and remarks-"You are so ugly and lousy", then I doubt any of you will react the same way.

Such is the human tendency, we always tend to doubt the positive and accept the negetive. Thinking so much as to what others might think of us, we have actually become a football of others opinions. But believe me...noone gives a damn. No one has time enough to waste on you. So why do you give a shit to it.

In life, there can be just two roles we can play - either a victim, or a witness. If we opt for the former, we will be a football of not only others, but our own emotions. Yes...our OWN emotions.
Howz that?? How can we be football of our own mind?
I will tell my perception on this.
Say, we own a car, we say-"Its my car", but we are not the car. Similarly, "Its my laptop", "Its my mobile", but we are not the mobile or the laptop.
Similarly, those are our emotions, but we are not the emotions. Don't you think we are much more important than some mere chemically activated electrical signals travelling through our neurons?

Well...I know that I am.
So I've opted to be the witness.
Ive opted to keep my happiness unadulterated from the emotions I get.
I've opted to RESPOND to situations, rather than REACT to them (catch the difference..??).
I've made my choice.

Now its your decision, what role you wanna play - the victim, or the witness???

Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.

The same four walls and busywork where really more like jail.

I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,

But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.

I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.

I claimed to be so busy with the things inside my zone,

But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.

I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.

I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,

I kissed my comfort zone good-bye and closed and locked the door.

If you're in comfort zone, afraid to venture out,

Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.

A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.

Reach for your future with a smile; Success is there for you!

Trip To Jhunjunu

One day myself , Vemuri, Rithesh, Aneesh (Gupta), Nandu and Sachin went off to Jhunjhunu for a SATSANG. We were also going there to invite Rajesh bhaiyya for a follow-up (he never came, so instead the next day we had our first group sadhna).

What to say ... we had an absolutely rollicking time ... sang and danced ... sat in a new meditation ... and basked in Guruji's wonderful knowledge :)

Rajesh bhaiyya, an AOL teacher from Surat shared the knowledge with us :) ... among the most memorable things he said :

Be sincere, not serious … only people in ICU are serious ...
A Yogi enjoys taking on challenges which make other people grumble … if he is finding it difficult to do something, he will take on that task first … and he will leave the task which is easy for him for tomorrow ... (he prefers difficult tasks over easy ones) … And he never bothers about the result of his work … takes it lite … In other words, he is sincere, not serious !!

He conducted a joyful meditation called La-La meditation (La means Krishna) … which was a beautiful new experience for us …

And then the satsang ….. !!

Miracles :

The organisers there were quite worried as their tabla player had failed to arrive ... how thrilled they were when the learnt our Rithesh could play tabla !!! :D
When it was time to leave (quite late in the night) , there were no buses … we were worried and wondering what to do when a Tata Sumo (with just enough space for us) came along and offered us a lift ..!! There were some Sardarjis sitting inside and we gave them an Introtalk during the journey !! I remember very strongly feeling the Guru’s presence that night …
While going, the bus journey cost us Rs 25 each … and took 1.5 hours … but the time taken during the return journey was 35 mins. … and each of us had to spend only 5 rupees …Such is the magic of satsang …
Six of us could fit into the narrow dikki of the Tata Sumo … even with Aneesh present !!

So here's the YES!+ BITS-Pilani blog !!! I have very little idea of what this blog is going to be all about ... we will find out as we go along ... :) ... but it will definitely include the experiences and adventures we have had :) ! A wonderful way for us bitsians to keep in touch ... :)
